Frequently Asked Questions
Are portable changing pads waterproof?
Some portable pads are fully waterproof or have a water-resistant outer shell (nylon or coated polyester) that wipes clean; others use breathable cotton that soaks through and needs machine washing. Choose based on whether you prioritize wipe-clean convenience or soft comfort.
How do I clean a changing pad while travelling?
For water-resistant pads, wipe down with a mild soap and water or baby wipe, then air-dry. For fabric pads, most are machine washable — use a gentle cycle and air-dry or tumble low. Carry a thin disposable liner or waterproof cover for messy situations between washes.
What size changing pad is best for travel?
Look for a pad that fully supports your child (many travel pads are around 20–27.5 inches unfolded). If you need a versatile solution for naps and changes, pick a larger size; for minimal pack space, choose a compact foldable mat that still offers adequate surface area.
